New Bank Details

The Trust's bank details have changed to Bank of Scotland from Nationwide. The change took far longer than the maximum 6 weeks it should have taken to get sorted out, due to various delays caused by bank burocracy. This caused some problems in distributing calendars, and some donors may have missed out, for which we apologise.

Also, the Trust is no longer using Virgin Money Giving. If you wish to make a donation, the new account details are below.

2023 Calendar

Due to the effects of the covid epidemic, unfortunately we didn't manage to produce a calendar for 2022.

The good news is that there will be a 2023 calendar. As a taster, above is January's photo, taken by Emma in Iceland. The Calendar is currently in the works and should be available from next month.

As usual, it is made up of photos taken by Emma on her travels.

We are currently reviewing the trust banking providers. Please contact Margery who can provide advice on  how best to proceed. Email:

From Common Wheel 2019

The Trust recieved this letter from Common Wheel:

14/11/2019

Dear all at Emma Cameron Memorial Trust,

Thank you for your financial support which has allowed us to continue our work with residents and patients in care homes and in wards in Glasgow. Continuity is very important as it allows us to build relationships with staff and participants and this helps us to deliver music sessions that have a greater impact.

Two of the care homes whose residents come to the Big Bang Bash, which brings everyone together for singing, dancing and a cup of tea, are now meeting up to do some joint activities. We have also noticed that participants from different places who come together for the BBB are now recognizing each other which is lovely. This event is quite firmly on the social calendar with everyone looking forward to it.

Two of our staff have been taking part in Arts in Care dementia training to ensure we are as informed as we can be about up to date research and ways of working. We have also been working with volunteers who are studying music at university.

Every day we see the difference music makes in helping Common Wheel to achieve the aims of: Improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, increasing skills and challenging stigma.

I have collected some quotes from staff and participants and a few photos to give you a flavour of what we do. (see separate report)

Thank you for your help, it is very much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Alison

Bird and Butterfly Cards

This year, in addition to the 2020 Calendar and Panda Cards which use Emma's photos, we have some beautiful cards which have been printed from photographs taken by the late Laurence McElhatton of Bridge of Weir, who was a longstanding friend of Emma's family.
Thanks go to his widow Sheena for letting the Trustees use Laurence's photos.

There are two groups of cards: a set of 6 birds and a set of 6 butterflies, in the same format as the Panda Cards.
We will be selling these at local table top sales. Again, contact Margery for details (emmacameronmemorialtrust@gmail.com).

Here is an example of one of the bird cards, a chaffinch:
